Why You Don’t Need “Your Other Half”
You don’t and will never need your other half. There is no half that is missing. What you are really missing is a true connection. A sense of oneness. A sense of purpose. You want that someone else to make you feel alive. But you don’t need a relationship to satisfy that. Just because someone wants to have sex with you doesn’t mean they want you more or love you more or think you’re any more beautiful than someone else does or give you some sense of status or purpose or high-up hierarchical ranking of quality just because you’re desired. And it definitely doesn’t make you any less or more than you really are.
Stop seeking validation in all the wrong places and ask yourself this: why do I refuse to honour myself? What am I ashamed of? What do I want to change? If you are not proud of yourself or happy with yourself or absolutely in love with the unique and amazing and smart and funny and caring and loving and good natured (the list could go on)person that you are, someone else will never fix that. Never ever ever. EVER. In fact, this becomes the basis for a toxic relationship, dragging you both down into the gutter of shared self deprecation and emotional dependency. You don’t deserve that. That’s not what is good for you and it never will be.
Know that you are never truly alone. That sense of belonging and oneness we all long for is innate and universal. But it involves opening up your heart. It will be uncomfortable. It will be scary. But you will realize that the true intimacy you crave is not to touch someone’s body, but their soul. To truly touch another person’s life. To make a difference.
You own unique gifts are meant to be revealed. This is where you will find ultimate fulfillment. By fully expressing your magical qualities and talents that you are meant to share with the world.
We all have one life. Take a chance on the world. Take a chance on yourself.
Don’t let superficial longings for fleeting experiences disguised as lasting satisfaction get in your way.
You are made for so much more than that. You are. The world is made for you. You are able to be everything you love, everything you long for, everything you dream about. It’s all inside you.
